Okay, so here's the news.
Getting back into Deviant art i find myself longing for a subscription and all the lovely features that go with it. But being a student and therefore poor by law, I set out in search for some person who offered one as a prize for a contest.

Apparently there whole forum of people just waiting to give me subscriptions!
Yay! Too easy!

So I clicked on any old post and found this interesting fellow called ~Xadreque , which aside from having an awesome name ( which I have no idea how to pronounce, but it looks really cool), was offering a subscription just for blogging about this site called Mindkicker ( [link] ).

Now I am not so desperate to endorse something that I don't honestly believe deserves endorsing.
So in the name of truth and justice and procrastination, I endeavored to check this "mindkicker" ( also another great name) out.

I was pleasantly surprised. It is like an alternate news site. Along the same lines of sites like Cracked.
Sort of Faux news. News which is actually interesting and dosn't involve botox injected presenters.
It's interesting and funny.

Well it's just good!
I book marked it , Because it deserved it. And will check back regularly for my 'learn a new thing everyday' quota.

So yes check it out.
And while your at it. If you could be voting for my post here so I can win. That would be nice too.

Hello Jetrie,

Thank you for looking at our dA page and thanks for your comment, as well as offering to give us some tips. I replied to your comment on our dA page, feel free to have a look.

I DO know how to shade an image, at least the technical aspect. However, there are a few reasons why I didn't:

1) I'm not an artist and hence any shading that I did do would be fairly bad as a result of a lack of artistic knowledge of anatomy and of pretty bad hand-eye coordination.

2) I don't have a Wacom tablet (but I am buying one soon), so shading would have to be done with the pen or polygonal lasso tools, which doesn't look as nice.

3) We're planning to release 3 issues of Song of Erebus every week. Since I am a student and I have a regular job, time restrictions prevent me from putting a large amount of time into each issue of the comic.

However, we've decided that Absent, the artist, will be doing the coloring now. I'll add special effects, do lettering, and of course I'm still the writer and scripter.

In any case, any advice or suggestions that you may have are more than welcome, everyone has their own way of coloring and of shading, and your method might work well for Absent.
